On June, 10, 2025, the Aalborg Centre for Problem-Based Learning (PBL) conducted a workshop titled “Assessment and Evaluation”. This session was held as a part of the NUoS-AAU collaborative program and focused on the crucial connection between constructive alignment and learner-centered assessment, exploring these principles within Problem-Based Learning (PBL) contexts. Central to the discussion was the Constructive Alignment Framework, which ensures coherence among learning objectives, teaching activities, and assessment methods.
An interactive session on “Problematizing Assessment” prompted NUoS team representatives to reflect on their past and current assessment strategies, identify challenges, and brainstorm innovative solutions. This led to a discussion of practical instruments for assessment, including learning journals, portfolios, observation records, and particularly rubrics, which provide clear criteria for evaluation and transparency.
The active involvement of the NUoS team in facilitating the PBL program was evident throughout the webinar.
